Biography

• My name is Summer Smith, and I am excited to join the staff of Benedict Day School as a third grade teacher.  I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education. I have twelve years teaching experience and I believe that teaching is a lifelong learning process. Every child is a unique and special individual. My role as a teacher is to develop the tools students need to become capable, successful, lifelong learners. I look forward to accomplishing this in exciting and challenging ways.

• I am married to Chris Smith, and we have a seven year old daughter, Cooper. We enjoy watching her grow and seeing the world through her eyes. She and I both have a love for the arts. I have had extensive training in ballet and still enjoy being involved in the world of dance. We are thankful that BDS includes and nurtures the arts in their curriculum.  We are so happy to be a part of the BDS family!
